Recent Sofitel El Gezirah Review: "This hotel had amazing amenities, quality restaurants, excellent staff, was a great value, and had excellent proximity to the sights a tourist would want to go to (the Egypt museum, cairo tower in within walking distance), and convenient for day tour pick-ups from travel agencies for the pyramids in giza. Lovely nile river view, and extremely comfortable bedding. Only complaint was with the spa. We understand that services were limited because we attended during Ramadan, but we asked about the offerings at the front desk and were referred to our room brochure. After picking out our preferred massages, we were informed that out of the 25 options or so, only two were actually available. The massage was good, but we generally felt that communication of service changes were never really shared with the guests until you expected to get something and you couldn't. Occasionally, the restaurants also did not have items available that were listed on their menu."
